Toddler abandoned in Kuwait reunited with Pinay mom

MANILA, Philippines — A one-year-old girl was reunited with her Filipina mother a few hours after her Indian father allegedly abandoned her in a local park in Kuwait.

The Philippine embassy in Kuwait said yesterday it was able to reunite the mother and child after a guard found the toddler alone and crying in the park Thursday.

Ambassador Renato Villa said the guard, a native of Ghana, brought the child to the embassy after reading a note, placed inside a nearby bag, instructing anyone who might find her to do that.

Villa said the note was written by someone who introduced himself as Tintin’s father. It also said that he was returning to India and could not take the child with him because she was undocumented.

The embassy was able to contact the mother at the number indicated in the note.

“The mother arrived soon after to claim the baby who she said she has not seen in three months,” Villa said.

“The mother said she has not seen her daughter since she was kicked out of their rented room by the father whom she accused of physically abusing her,” he added.

Villa said mother and child will be among those who would soon be flown home as part of the ongoing repatriation program of the Philippine government.

Boracay if its environmental issues were not addressed within six months.
