Kris Aquino on Duterte skipping interview: An epic snub
MANILA, Philippines — Actress-host Kris Aquino chose to remain positive after failing to interview President Rodrigo Duterte but admitted that his absence was an "epic snub."
The Queen of All Media vented on Instagram after her scheduled sit-down with Duterte—staged as her television hosting comeback after a seven-month hiatus—was called off on Friday while the show was already on air.
"Humble and realistic enough to admit it was an epic snub but learning so much from @beyonce," Kris wrote. She captioned the image with a quote, "If life gives you lemon, make lemonade."
Duterte backed out from the supposed townhall interview during a business summit in Davao City at the last minute, saying he was suffering from migraine.
Kris instead tried to interview the entrepreneurs present at the event after seeking advice from her brother, former President Benigno Aquino III.
Upon learnng that Duterte would be a no-show, Kris said in jest that she will prepare for her next interview with the president by dieting.
