CBCP praying for ‘enemies’ of Church
MANILA, Philippines – The head of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) is responding to attacks against the nation’s predominant church with prayers.
In a statement yesterday, CBCP president and Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas said he is praying for the good of people who consider the Catholic Church and its leaders as their “enemies.”
“Mine is the silence of respect for those who consider us their enemies but whose good we truly pray for and whose happiness we want to see unfold,” the prelate said.
