SC ends oral arguments on Poe's disqualification case
MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday ended the oral arguments on the disqualification case against Sen. Grace Poe.
The oral arguments, involving the two petitions of Poe requesting the high tribunal to abolish the decision of the Commission on Elections en banc to disqualify her from the presidential race, reached the fifth round before it was terminated.
During the fifth day of the oral arguments, SC Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno asked the parties involved to submit their responding memorandum within a non-extendible five-day period from Tuesday.
The last day of the oral arguments lasted for five hours with respondent petitioners presenting their defense. They were also interpellated by the magistrates.
After the counsels and the tribune to serve their memoranda, Sereno said the case will be declared as already “submitted for resolution.”
