Aquino policies producing economic progress – Mar

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Liberal Party (LP) presidential candidate Manuel Roxas II compared the policies of the Aquino administration to a harmonious orchestra producing good music comparable to the straight path policy of the government.

Roxas made the statement after savoring kundiman songs and original Pilipino music in a concert held during his visit in Malolos City for political sorties yesterday morning.

He said the policies of the Aquino administration are like a well-tuned orchestra in which different musical instruments together produce music with complementary notes in the same way the straight path policy, or “daang matuwid,” produces economic progress.

“If we remember in 2010, we cannot compose an orchestra because we lack several instruments. The orchestra that was left by the past administration is out of tune, full of errors, and only caused us discomfort,” he added.

Roxas encouraged the people of Bulacan province to continue the pursuit of good music through what he called the “Daang Matuwid Orchestra.”

The “Konsiyertong Bulakenyo: Pagbabalik Tanaw, Susi sa Tagumpay” was held at Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in Malolos City.

Among the Bulakenyo artists who performed were Talentadong Pinoy Hall of Famer Melbeline Anne Caluag and saxophone player Rodnick Santos of the Provincial Brass Band. They performed their rendition of the classic Filipino song “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika.”

Other artists who performed were blind kundiman queen Michelle Lagartera, Lara Lavinia Bayani, Trixie Dayrit, BulSu Entablado and BulSu Saring Himig.

Meanwhile, Roxas’ running mate, Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, has reminded her strategists to “be genuine.”

Speaking to reporters during the opening of the Quezon City interactive museum on Monday, Robredo said she does not want to be a product of branding and image building.
