Valte slams PAL for inefficient check-in
MANILA, Philippines - A spokesperson for President Aquino expressed dismay yesterday over the inefficient system being adopted by flag-carrier Philippine Airlines when she was bumped off from the queue even if she arrived for the check-in much earlier than those who were accommodated.
“Waited one hour for check-in, staff made 20 people jump the line because they were late. Lovely for early passengers, don’t you think?” deputy presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte stated in her tweets.
“As your T3 duty supervisor was too busy to even face a passenger, here it is: your check-in system is not efficient,” she complained further. “Wanted to give this in person but your supervisor was, alas, too busy. Thanks and good luck with the Holy Week rush.”
The exasperated Palace official then gave her unsolicited suggestions.
“Improve your check-in system. Holy Week is coming. Act now so thousands won’t be inconvenienced,” Valte stressed.
She managed to get on the plane, however, to Cagayan de Oro.
PAL management, for its part, acknowledged the inconvenience but said it won’t happen again.
“Rest assured that our staff is ready to accommodate passengers in time for the Holy Week holidays. Thank you,” PAL said.
