List of areas under state of calamity grows
MANILA, Philippines - Persistent torrential rains that triggered destructive flooding in Luzon and Metro Manila forced local authorities on Wednesday to declare more areas under a state of calamity.
Flood-ravaged Marikina City and Pasay City sustained widespread damage due to monsoon rains have also declared a state of calamity on Wednesday.
As of 5:00, provinces, towns and cities under such conditions are:

The National Disaster, Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) estimated 223,991 families or about 1,060,095 people were affected by the torrential rains brought on by the southwest monsoon that was enhanced by Tropical Storm Maring.
Many residents living near dams and waterways were also forced to evacuate on Tuesday due to ongoing or possible overflow of water.
The onslaught of the floods and landslides also left nine people dead, 41 injured and four others missing, NDRRMC said.
Tropical storm "Maring" has left the country and was seen to Taiwan with an estimated sustained winds of 105 kilometers per hour.
The rains inundated 513 areas in 78 cities and municipalities, incurring an initial estimated damage of P66.73 million to agriculture and infrastructure.
