MOPC fetes Customs chief

The Manila Overseas Press Club (MOPC) is holding its very first Customs Night tomorrow May 5, Thursday, 7 p.m. at the Grand Ballroom, Dusit Hotel, Makati City.
Commissioner Alberto Lina is the guest of honor and speaker. Under the theme Trade Facilitation and Leveling the Playing Field for Business, Commissioner Lina is expected to talk on his programs to improve customs collections and revenues, lifestyle check on customs officials, and the perennial problems on smuggling and other customs related frauds.
MOPC treasurer and ways & means chair, Nelia T. Gonzalez announced that an open forum will follow the speech of the speaker to be moderated by MOPC president Biznews Asia Magazine publisher Tony S. Lopez. The panelists are Nelie Sindayen of Time Magazine; Dodie Lacuna of RPN Channel 9; Domini Torrevillas and Wilson Flores of the Philippine STAR; and Diego Cagahastian of Manila Bulletin.
