Vice President Leni Robredo ranks second with 23% followed by Sen. Manny Pacquiao with 7%.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno ranks fourth with 4% and Sen. Ping Lacson is in fifth place with 2%.

The latest Pulse Asia pre-election survey shows that former senator Bongbong Marcos remains the top choice of 60% of Filipinos for president.

Vice President Leni Robredo ranks second with 16%, followed by boxer-turned-senator Manny Pacquiao and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno with 8% each.

Sen. Ping Lacson is in the fifth place with 4%. The poll was conducted from January 19 to 24 using face-to-face interviews.

Larry Gadon, a candidate for senator, is accused of violating Republic Act 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act after he was seen in a viral video cursing at a journalist, according to a report by ABS-CBN.

The complaints, which include libel and cyberlibel charges, were filed by freelance investigative journalist Raissa Robles. Gadon had accused her of spreading fake news in a separate video.

The Supreme Court last month suspended Gadon for profanities he hurled at Robles in the earlier video.

Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Kiko Pangilinan will hold their proclamation rally in Naga City, Camarines Sur on February 8, campaign manager Erin Tanada says.

Tanada adds that the opposition camp will also hold proclamation rallies in different areas in Bicol region on from February 8 to 9.

All 12 senatorial bets endorsed by Robredo are also invited to the event.

The Mandaluyong CIty campaign headquarters of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos remains shut following a COVID-19 outbreak among his campaign personnel.

The former senator had tested positive for the virus last week and failed to appear for a Zoom call with the Commission on Elections in the proceedings on petitions against his candidacy.

Sen. Christopher "Bong" Go, administration presidential candidate under an allied party of PDP-Laban, is withdrawing his candidacy, state media reports.

CNN Philippines also reports that Go has said he will withdraw.

The announcement of his withdrawal comes after days of President Rodrigo Duterte's longtime aide giving hints that he may drop out of the presidential race.

This would leave the administration PDP-Laban party without an official candidate in the 2022 elections for now.

Go was elected in the 2019 midterm polls and still has a seat at the Senate until 2025.

The son and namesake of the Philippines' former dictator Ferdinand Marcos says he took a cocaine test after President Rodrigo Duterte accused an unnamed presidential candidate of using the illegal drug.

Marcos Jr, who is among the frontrunners seeking to succeed Duterte in 2022, says in a statement he was tested Monday and had submitted the result to three police agencies.

He tells a local broadcaster he had tested negative.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has tendered her resignation from Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), the party says.

HNP Secretary General Anthony del Rosario says the Davao City mayor resigned at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
