Agriculture Secretary William Dar confirms the detection of H5N6 — a highly pathogenic avian influenza — in Jaen, Nueva Ecija.
Dar says the bird flu has depolulated at least 12,000 birds as of Saturday.
On the possibility of human transmission, Dar said there is a slim chance that it can be transmitted to humans.
