PAGASA says "Perla" intensified into a severe tropical storm Saturday morning.

The eye of Severe Tropical Storm Perla was located at 600 kilometes east of Basco, Batanes.

"Perla" has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph. It is moving west northwest at 15 kph.

Tropical Depression Perla intensifies and is now a tropical storm, PAGASA says.

It strengthened at 2 a.m. Friday. It now packs maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gusts of up to 80 kph. It is located at 790 km east of Basco at 4 a.m.

PAGASA says Tropical Depression Perla maintains its strength as it continues to move west-northward.

It has maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph. "Perla" is moving west northwest at 10 kph.

PAGASA says Tropical Depression Perla is expected to remain over the Philippine Sea in the next two days.

It was located at 910 km east of Tuguegarao City at 4 a.m. today.

It packs maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gusts of up to 55 kph.
