PAGASA says "Perla" intensified into a severe tropical storm Saturday morning.
The eye of Severe Tropical Storm Perla was located at 600 kilometes east of Basco, Batanes.
"Perla" has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 115 kph. It is moving west northwest at 15 kph.
