PAGASA says Tropical Storm Nimfa has accelerated while moving north-northwestward. 

At 10 p.m. Thursday evening, the eye of "Nimfa" was located at 715 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes. It continues to move north northwest at 15 kilometers per hour. 

"Nimfa" has maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Between Thursday and Friday evening (September 20) evening, frequent light to moderate with occasional heavy rains will be experienced over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, and CALABARZON, the state weather bureau says. 

"Occasional light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains over Bicol Region, Pangasinan, Mindoro Provinces, Romblon, Marinduque, and Calamian Islands. Scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will affect the rest of Luzon," it adds.

PAGASA says the low pressure area in the vicinity of Sto. Tomas, La Union will merge with the trough or extension of Tropical Depression Nimfa within the next 48 hours.

At 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, “Nimfa” was located 745 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes. It packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour.

The low pressure area east of Batanes has developed into a tropical depression and is assigned the name "Nimfa," PAGASA says in its 5 p.m. weather alert.

At 4 p.m. today, "Nimfa" was located 695 km east of Basco, Batanes. It packs maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
