Tropical Depression Dodong, which exited the Philippine area of responsibility at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, continues to barrel away from the country.
It is moving at a north north-east direction at 35 kph and is headed toward southern Japan.
It was spotted 1,165 km north-east of extreme northern Luzon at 3 a.m. Thursday and packs maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gusts of 60 kph.
PAGASA says Tropical Depression Dodong has slightly accelerated while moving north-northeastward.
As of 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, the eye of "Dodong" was estimated at 705 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.
Tropical Depression Dodong is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility by afternoon or evening today.
"Dodong" was spotted at 700 km east of Calayan, Cagayan at 3 a.m. today. It is moving at a northeast direction at 10 kph.
It packs maximum sustained winds of 45 kph and gusts of 60 kph.
The LPA east of Aparri, Cagayan has developed into a tropical depression at 2 p.m. today and was assigned the name "Dodong."
