Public Attorney's Office forensic chief Dr. Erwin Erfe contradicted an earlier autopsy of the police and said that 16-year-old Christine Lee Silawan was raped before she was murdered, the Cebu-based SunStar newspaper reports.

Erfe told reporters in an interview that their re-autopsy of the teen's body showed there were lacerations and signs of bleeding on the girl's genitals.

Philippine National Police medico-legal officer Benjamin Lara earlier debunked reports claiming that the victim was raped.
