Pacquiao pounds Matthysse, scores 7th round KO to win WBA welterweight title

It's over! Manny finishes Matthysse with a mammoth left uppercut to score a 7th round victory and become the WBA welterweight champion!

Manny staying busy in Round 7. It looks more like he's the defending champion. Another left uppercut  and Matthysse down for third time. Ayless stops fight.

End of Round 6. Another dominant round for Pacquiao, too many power shots landed on Matthysse. Lucas limited to jabs. Can he withstand this?

Matthysse takes a knee as Round 5 nears the end! That's another knockdown for Pacquiao and an instant 10-8 round for him.

Down goes Matthysse at start of round 3! Excellent flurry by Pacquiao.

Crowd goes wild. Manny patiently waiting. Crowd chants "Manny! Manny!"

Pacquiao-Matthysse undercard: Cebu's Jhack Tepora annexes the WBA featherweight title with an impressive 9th round TKO vs Mexico's Edivaldo Ortega.

Still lots of empty seats at the Axiata Arena, despite the main event being only one undercard fight away.
