The iconic Strumm’s Bar is now an excellent French restaurant called Pardon My French and serves the best French dishes.

Gorgeous, hardworking socialite Eva Abesamis was honored with a fantastic birthday bash by her long-time partner businessman and southern gentleman farmer Citoy “Cesito” Lopez for the 40 chosen guests, dahlings.

The celebrant looked divine in a one-shoulder red outfit by Rajo Laurel, making some guests comment that “she looked like the gorgeous Greek goddess Athena.”

The superb four-course sit-down dinner included Skagen Shrimp cocktail in Dili cream sauce, Jamon Serrano Salad with lemon olive oil dressing for the cocktails, followed by Lemon Sole Fillet and Chateubriand. For dessert, guests indulged in Mango Jubilee crepe with fresh cream, palanggas. We were all drowned with French champagne and red or white French wines.

Guests were Minnie Osmeña, Eduardo “Nene” Lacson, Henry and Jojo Zabarte, designer Lulu Tan Gan with her husband Joseph Gueta, Patrick Coard and her wife Ria Macasaet-Augousti and her daughter Kifu Augousti, Tess Que, Kathy Go, Enzo and Sandie Squillantini of Romulo’s Restaurant, Alvaro Pertierra, interior designer Babygirl Baluyot-Fricke,  Lucille Jacinto-Carlos, Maryann Ojeda, Cory Quirino, Beks Tinga, Liza Mcdonnel, Pacqui and Lilibeth Campos, Nini Pinlac-Legaspi, interior designer Leo Almeria, Annie Montejo, Patrick and Chichi Lizot and Johnny Litton.

The Sabor Latino band played dance music, sending most everybody to the dance floor and shaking off all the calorie intake from the divine dinner prepared by the renowned chef Robert Lilja, formerly of the chic Makati Garden Club.

And just like Cinderella, we all dashed home after a great night of fun, excellent dinner and company, which started at 6 p.m. for hors d’oeuvres and cocktails.

Check out Pardon My French when you are in the mood for delicious French cuisine at Jupiter Street, Makati City. I will definitely be back there, palanggas!
