Vintage strikes back! So it wasn’t surprising that the path-finding León Gallery held its very own “Vintages” auction just before the holiday season went full throttle.

The dream team behind “The Summer Auction” came together once again for this occasion. Leading the group was world-renowned interior designer Jonathan Matti and lifestyle maven Pepito Albert with stylist Devi de Veyra.

“Vintages” presented not just the choicest decorative arts such as mirrors and lighting fixtures, but also the zany such as Basquiat skateboards and very au courant 1950s furniture.

The auction also featured select paintings, art toys and sculptures, as well as pre-loved designer wear, including Slim’s evening gowns and Parisian suits, Chanel handbags and Tod’s moccasins from certain society doyennes.

Special partner was Mid-century Manila, a passion project helmed by Ken and Isa Mishuku, who brought their high style and expertise to the event. The notable pieces in the auction were the Karim Rashid love seat, Knoll tulip dining set, the chrome Panton Chair, and the Massimo Papiri coffee table.

And guess what? Even the renowned CWC Interiors connected to CWC International Corp., a 28-year-old firm with a solid standing in the Philippine retail and furniture industry, headed by CEO and president Frederick H. Yuson. Fred’s vision is to make available these iconic pieces from around the world and make CWC top-of-mind in every home and workspace environment. With CWC’s deep-rooted relationship with premier brands, it is able to present the best of the best in mid-century and fabulous iconic furniture. León Gallery director Jaime Ponce de Leon hosted a pared-down viewing party for a chosen few with Lisa Guerrero Nakpil. Also present were trés chic Cathy de Guzman and vivacious Melot Sunga, among the other name-droppables.

Renowned photographer Alex Van Hagen was busy as a bee taking photos of the famous vintage auction.

What an amazing night it was, palanggas.
