Hello, Dollies

MANILA, Philippines — Cholo Ayuyao designed five fantastic dolls in ternos, each measuring 16 inches in height, in an exhibit at the CCP lobby called “Ang Limang Filipina.” Made from vinyl and resin, the exquisitely detailed dolls were dressed in tulle, chiffon and organza and included: The Actress (in a black and red ombre two-piece terno); The Romantic (in printed chiffon in dusky pink with tiny flower prints); The First Lady (in elegant classic piña cocoon, adorned in lace and fine beadwork); The Couture Junkie (an illusion terno mermaid gown with spangled appliques, beaded cape and train); and The Gamine (dressed in a structural black faux leather terno paired with pants, asymmetric overskirt and metal silver studs).
