Filipina shares photos of shoot with Victoria’s Secret
MANILA, Philippines — In February last year, Filipino-American model Kelsey Merritt told Philstar.com in an interview that her ultimate dream was to become a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
On May 11, Kelsey surprised her Twitter fans when she announced that her utmost wish has become closer to reality.

Actress Liza Soberano, who modeled for a Filipino clothing brand together with Kelsey, congratulated Kelsey and said she cannot wait to call her Angel Kelsey.

To prepare for her Victoria's Secret shoot, Kelsey said she has been exercising and eating healthy like a real Angel.

In her latest Instagram story, the Filipina model shared behind-the-scenes photos on the set of Victoria's Secret Sport.

Proudly from Pampanga, Kelsey graduated with a degree in AB Communication from Ateneo de Manila University.
She began modeling at 15 years old, following her model friends’ advice to join them at the Philippine Fashion Week.
From runway modeling, she moved to doing fashion editorials and TV commercials.
When she turned 18, an email shook her early career: an invitation to sign up with New York-based modeling agency Wilhelmina International, founded by Dutch supermodel Wilhelmina Cooper and the agency behind supermodels like Iman, Gia Carangi and Beverly Peele.
Wilhelmina International also manages singer-actor Nick Jonas; pop star Demi Lovato; and models Cindy Bruna and Nyle DiMarco, among others.
Apart from Vera Wang’s “White” bridal collection, Kelsey has also modeled for Uniqlo, Kashieca with Soberano and Bea Alonzo, and a Maybelline New York commercial, which she shot as an extra to Victoria’s Secret Angel Gigi Hadid.
She is currently represented by New York-based agency Women Management Milano, which also manages top models Jourdan Dunn and Winnie Harlow.
Kelsey has not yet given details of her Victoria’s Secret project, but if the international lingerie brand would include her in its annual fashion show, she could be the first Filipina Victoria’s Secret Angel that would join the ranks of international supermodels like Tyra Banks, Karlie Kloss, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima.
