The sexiest skinny jeans

STYLE S.O.S. - Lucy Torres-Gomez, Rissa M. Samson, Tingting Cojuangco -

Dear Rissa

I’m always on the go for my work. I’m looking for a pair of jeans that do not feel thick and heavy. Something light to pack would be a bonus! Of course, they should fit nicely and show off some curves. It’s really hard to find the perfect pair. Any recommendations?

Chiara Misa

Everybody owns a pair of denim pants. It’s perhaps the one piece of clothing that transforms models, millionaires, and movie stars into mortals and puts the bums and bourgeosie who love denim on equal footing with them. And yes, finding the perfect pair is always the biggest challenge. A must are the Sumatra Jeggings of Gas Jeans (located at Greenbelt 3, Makati). It’s the star of their latest Rhythm ‘N’ Soul collection. It answers all your denim desires — it’s made of super stretch, soft and light denim cloth and delivers a “second skin” look which enhances women’s curves. While doing errands in Greenbelt, I saw them at the Gas store. I promised myself I’d come back for them. I liked them because even if they fit like leggings, they faithfully repeat the features and details of good old 5-pocket jeans. And because they’re light, they’re perfect for traveling. These jeans also take you from day to night — they are reliable and mobile during a busy day but quite dangerously sexy at night! They hug you in the right parts and make your legs look long, too! They’re the skinniest skinny jeans ever! I bet like me, you’ll be tempted to get them in black, white, and washed denim blue.

Second skin: White Sumatra 5-pocket jeggings, P4,995; brown leather belt, P2,995; Darlene slim-fit dark wash denim, P3,995; blue button-down top P4,795.

Skin Care For Men

Dear Lucy,

You once said that it is part of the wife’s duty to also care for her husband’s skin, and that if it takes putting on cream while he is sleeping, then so be it. What products can I start with for my husband?

Andi

Not that it is a duty in the sense that it is mandatory, but it would be nice if you could encourage your man to take care of his skin in the same way that you care for yours, too. Most men will not have the patience to do all the little steps women are so fond of so the simpler his regimen, the more likely he will stick to it for the long term.

I suggest Hydra Energetic Multi-Action 8 from L’Oreal Paris Men Expert because this is a multi-tasking wonder. It is an all-over face product packed with caffeine, magnesium, and vitamin C to address dullness, dryness, and dark circles. He can also use Midnight Recovery Concentrate from Kiehl’s at night. This gives a very well-rested glow the next day. What is important also is for you to get him one of those sun block formulas that comes in a stick so it is convenient for him and hassle-free. Clarins has a good one.

Resto Etiquette

Dear Ms. Tingting

I get intimidated by the presence of waiters, waitresses, servers in restaurants and feel I have to act extra proper. What can I do to overcome this feeling?

Tina

Many people who are confident of their behavior among their friends become terrified of embarrassing themselves before imposing maitre d’s or seemingly snobbish waiters.

If you’re sitting at a restaurant table, satisfied with your manners, one should not care about the opinion of those standing behind it and waiting on you.
