Sophia Laforteza to skip Katseye's European tour as hiatus continues
MANILA, Philippines — Filipina singer Sophia Laforteza will continue her well-being hiatus from Katseye and will miss the global girl group's European stops of its upcoming "Wildworld" tour.
Katseye's labels, Hybe and Geffen Records, announced in August that Sophia would be temporarily stepping away from promotional activities to focus on her mental health.
As a result, the group's Filipina leader missed out on further promoting the newly released extended play "Wild," as well as performances in Head of the Clouds and Disney Legends, among others.
The agencies released a new statement confirming that Sophia's hiatus would extend to mid-September and she will not take part in Katseye's European tour debut.
"Sophia is focusing on her well-being, and the company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed," Hybe and Geffen said.

The labels asked fans called Eyekons for their warm understanding, reiterating that their "highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of" artists, vowing to provide more updates once available.
Katseye's "Wildworld" European leg runs from September 1 to 17 and the tour will continue in North America a month later, allowing ample time for management to reassess Sophia's progress.
The girl group is temporarily down two members after Manon Bannerman also went on hiatus earlier this year citing a similar well-being break. The Swiss-Ghanaian has not participated in group activities since February.
Remaining members Lara Raj, Daniela Avanzini, Jeung Yoon-chae, and Megan Skiendiel — who is recovering from an ankle sprain — will proceed with the "Wildworld" tour.
