Kim Mu Yeol reunites with 'Parasite' star for new revenge action series
MANILA, Philippines — "Teach You A Lesson" star Kim Mu-yeol has another project lined up, this time opposite his "Juvenile Justice" co-star Lee Jung-eun in an action noir series.
The show with the working title "The Shooter" follows Jung-eun's restaurant worker Jeong Suk-ja, who is on a revenge path to avenge her grandson, picking up a gun for the first time since her youth.
Suk-ja learns from Mu-yeol's Seo Yeon-woo that the unidentified assailants who brutally attacked her grandson, now fighting for his life, may be linked to a powerful conglomerate.
"With a wealth of information and sharp judgment, Yeon-woo aids Suk-ja's revenge yet seems to have slightly different motives," teased streaming platform Netflix who greenlit the project.
It is a reunion for Jung-eun and Mu-yeol having previously worked on the 2022 drama "Juvenile Justice," and this is also Jung-eun's first foray into action after years in the business.

Completing the cast are veteran character actor Huh Joon-ho, "My Name Is Loh Kiwan" actress Choi Sung-eun, "Weak Hero Class 2" and "Would You Marry Me?" actor Bae Na-ra, "Uncle Samsik" and "Flower of Evil" actor Seo Hyun-woo, and Moon Jong-won.
Hyun-woo's "A Shop for Killers" director Kwon Lee, who was also behind 2019's "Save Me," will helm the upcoming project.
Jung-eun is best known internationally for her collaborations with Bong Joon-ho, especially "Parasite." She has also starred in "Light Shop," "Our Blues," "Soundtrack #1," "While You Were Sleeping," "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo," and "My Daughter is a Zombie."
Before "Teach You A Lesson," Mu-yeol appeared in "Sweet Home," "Queen Woo," "Trolley," "Bad Guys 2," and is confirmed for another Netflix drama, "First Doctor."
