Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won star in new drama by 'Crash Landing On You' writer
MANILA, Philippines — For their first team up, Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won are set to play a married couple in the drama tentatively titled "Queen of Tears."
“The production of writer Park Ji Eun’s new drama ‘Queen of Tears’ has been confirmed,” production house Studio Dragon announced last Monday.
Soo-hyun and Ji-won will star in the drama to be written by Park whose writing credits include "Crash Landing On You," "The Legend of the Blue Sea," "The Producers" and "My Love From The Star."
Park will reunite with Soo-hyun, who starred in the last two aforementioned dramas. She is also set to work with Jang Young-woo, who directed "Crash Landing On You."
According to reports, Soo-hyun and Ji-won will play the roles of Baek Hyun-woo and Hong Hae-in, respectively.
Hyun-woo is the legal director of the conglomerate Queens Group, while Hae-in is the chaebol heiress of the Queens Group’s department stores.
“Queen of Tears” is a romantic comedy about the couple and their determination to stay together against all odds. Its filming will start in early 2023 and is scheduled to premiere in the second half of the year.
