Who will be Miss Grand International 2024 CJ Opiaza’s successor?

With Christine Juliane “CJ” Opiaza being named as Miss Grand International 2024, the candidates for this year’s Miss Grand Philippines are expected to go through a rigorous selection process to be a worthy successor and the country’s best bet.
Recalling what CJ said in a recent media call for her homecoming as the first Pinay to bag the golden crown, the representative should be present, and her presence should be known to and be felt by the people of the organization, and the judges, if one may add.
The Miss Grand Philippines organization and team, led by its national director Arnold Vegafria, is also taking on the challenge to score a back-to-back win and make sure that the Miss Grand International crown stays in the Philippines.
Although there’s only one CJ, the winner of Miss Grand Philippines 2025 should be oozing with confidence and carry such an amiable charisma, resulting in having a commanding presence.

“It’s possible for the Philippines to have a back-to-back win this year,” remembered Arnold of what Miss Grand International president Nawat Itsaragrisil said in his Manila visit, during the recent Miss Grand Philippines candidates press presentation and sashing ceremony. Nawat is the president of the Thailand-based Miss Grand International. “Only on the condition that we choose a worthy successor to our reigning Miss Grand International 2024.”
That successor will be plucked from this bevy of beauties. They are Miss Grand Aklan Beatriz Abalajon Mclelland; Miss Grand Alabang, Muntinlupa Chelsea Joy Arciaga; Miss Grand Bamban, Tarlac Sophia Francine Barles; Miss Grand Bataan Manilyn De Guzman; Miss Grand Batangas Beamae Sumulong; Miss Grand Bicolandia Margarette Briton; Miss Grand Bulacan Shanon Tampon; Miss Grand Caloocan City Arianne Villareal; Miss Grand Davao Region Angeleyh Pasco; and Miss Grand Filipino Community in Canada Jasmine Garner.
Also part of the 2025 batch are Miss Grand Ilocos Region Angel Dolor; Miss Grand Ilocos Sur Princess Tacazon; Miss Grand Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay Princess Alabata; Miss Grand Laguna Irish Anne Parto; Miss Grand Nueva Ecija Alyssa Geronimo; Miss Grand Occidental Mindoro Mary Joy Suarez; Miss Grand Pampanga Emma Mary Tiglao; Miss Grand Pangasinan Angelica Joy Flores; Miss Grand Parañaque City Babylyn Namo; and Miss Grand Poblacion, Muntinlupa Anne Maureen Pasco.
Completing the roster are Miss Grand Quezon City Nikki Buenafe Cheveh; Miss Grand Quezon Province Dawn Salas; Miss Grand Rizal Province Beatriz Angela Ocampo; Miss Grand Samar Island Carla Jane Torcido; Miss Grand Taguig City Michelle Arceo; Miss Grand Tanay, Rizal Rona Rabina; Miss Grand Tarlac Province Mary Rose Grande; Miss Grand Valenzuela City Dianne Cabatulan; and Miss Grand Zambales Anita Rose Gomez.

Aside from the Miss Grand Philippines title, it was also announced that the titles of Reina Hispanoamericana Pilipinas, Face of Beauty Philippines and Miss Asia Pacific Philippines will also be awarded during the coronation night on Aug. 12 at the SM Mall of Asia.
Arnold shared that Miss Grand Philippines organizations and all other affiliate pageants under Miss World Philippines and ALV Pageant Circle “are all purposely driven in promoting Philippine tourism. It has always been our primary goal to create a global awareness for our country’s beautiful scenic spots and tourist destinations.”
“As well as to encourage tourists to experience firsthand our unique brand of Filipino hospitality as well as our cultural and historic heritage,” added he.
For her bit at the event, CJ, the reigning Miss Grand International, shared, “As we take this new chapter of Miss Grand Philippines 2025, I know we will be bringing a new different flavor, a new phenomenal set of Filipina queens… I know we’ll be having another representative who will take home the crown back home in the Philippines.”
As a queen, she also carries out the international pageant’s mission to promote “peace and understanding,” along with the four B’s traits a Miss Grand International should possess.
“Let us not forget Beauty, Body, Brain and Business,” said she, adding two B’s: Brilliance and Behavior. So, the winner of Miss Grand Philippines is someone who is beautiful inside and out, smart, resilient and empowered to succeed in a chosen field such as entertainment and business.
“I know Filipinas can truly shine on that stage,” said CJ, giving the candidates this piece of advice: “Shine the brightest and represent our country with your whole heart, with your gentle heart, purpose, pride and your authenticity.”
