MANILA, Philippines — P-pop act BINI was included in the newest Forbes 30 Under 30 Asia list, the only girl group to make the cut this year.

The Nation's Girl Group figured in the Entertainment & Sports list, which also had Filipino chess prodigy Daniel Quizon.

A write-up by staff members Rana Wehbe Watson and Ian Sayson details BINI's origins emerging from ABS-CBN, the network losing its franchise, and living through the pandemic.

"At first, we were ignored, but then we noticed more public interest when we posted on social media," said one member Mikha, with another member Aiah adding, "Our posts show who we really are, and that's one reason our fans like us."

Another member, Colet, also said that the evolution of the group's songs goes hand-in-hand with the growth of their fans.

Completing the group are Maloi, Stacey, Gwen, Sheena, and leader Jhoanna.

The two K-pop groups that made the list are both boy bands, Stray Kids and Big Ocean, the latter the first to be made up of members with hearing impairments.

Apart from BINI and Quizon, Filipinos that made the list include Urban Farmer TV founder Anna Beatriz Suavengco, Kaya Founders managing director Raya Buensuceso, Forge Ventures president Ysabel Chua, and visual artist Renren Galeno.

Other notable names include Korean actors Cha Eun-woo and Go Min-si, as well as Olympic swimmer Kaylee McKeown.

BINI recently departed the country to begin the international dates of the group's "BINIverse" world tour, which opened with a February show in the Philippine Arena.

The month-long tour will have stops in the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the United States.
