Just for comic relief, let me share my crazy thoughts about the latest showbiz news. Here are my “Dollyisms” on the buzz du jour:

Rumored split-up of Kobe Paras and Kyline Alcantara: It ain’t over till they are over as followers of each other on Instagram.

Gloria Diaz slams Phillip Salvador with her comment: ‘Padalhan mo ng pera ang anak mo.’

Glo is Miss U. Philip is “Mr. Missed Dues.”

As a close friend of John Estrada and Priscilla “Pri” Meirelles, I have been privy to their marital woes long before Pri spilled the beans in her interview with Karen Davila. Since I’m not too much of a showbiz columnist to be a friend, I never divulged anything that the couple confided in me.

How sad that Pri told Karen her marriage to John is already a closed book. As a friend, I hope Pri just thinks it’s over between them, but she doesn’t exactly feel that it’s over. Perhaps, her sensibilities as a wife are a bit different because she’s not Pinay.

At the 13th birthday party of their daughter, Anechka, last February, John told me in passing, “Mahal ko pa rin si Pri.” In Karen’s interview, Pri said that she holds John in high esteem and praised him for being a good provider.

Since the love and respect remain intact, there is still hope somehow.

But even if they are at odds as husband and wife, their teamwork as mom and dad to Anechka will forever be rock solid.

A Facebook report about James Yap visiting his ex, Kris Aquino, is not true.

Fake news alert

I came across a showbiz website on Facebook with a headline about James Yap visiting his ex, Kris Aquino who’s still battling autoimmune diseases.

It was a detailed report, but it seemed dubious. So, to verify, I sent “Migo” James a text message in his native Hiligaynon. His reply was “Miga, di yan tuod. Galing tani maging maayo na  matyag ni Kris (Amiga, that’s not true. But I hope Kris will get well already.)”

Shame on fake news peddlers. They give journalism a bad name.

What a delight it was to interview my friend from way back, John Arcilla, on my DollywoodPH YouTube Channel. I met John during his “teatro” days, way before he joined showbiz. He was the acting coach of my son, IC back in the ‘90s. Fame and fortune have not changed John a bit. The multi-awarded actor is also award-worthy as a friend.
