South Korean artist Choi Bo Min: ‘I’m ready to show my talent in Philippines’

South Korean singer, actor and host Choi Bo Min is eager to showcase his acting and singing flair to Filipino audiences. He recently signed a contract deal with Universal Records Philippines/GLXY Talent Management, which marked the launching of his career in the Philippines.
During the contract signing event, attended by Universal Records’ managing director and GL
XY Talent Management founder, Kathleen Dy-Go, executive president Ramon Chuaying, and GLXY Talent Management executive director Andre Alvarez, Choi Bo Min announced that he has an upcoming drama series with GMA Network.
The former member of the K-pop group Golden Child shared that he will apply the things that he learned from the Korean entertainment industry while exploring the Philippines showbiz scene.
“Since I’ve been training my acting career in Korea, the fundamental talent and skills (that I’ve learned from there), I will apply them when I do some projects here in the Philippines. I’m ready to show my talent in the Philippines,” he stated.
Choi Bo Min is mentally and physically prepared to embark on his solo career here. He said, “I exercise every day ‘cause I want to become very healthy like mentally or (prepare) my body so exercise is very important to me.”
He said he’s fond of Filipino singer Sam Concepcion’s music and he wants to collaborate with him someday.

He is into the romcom genre and would like to do it again in future projects as well as other genres. “I wanna try every genre as much as possible. So romance or comedy and suspense, everything is possible so I will try that.”
Choi Bo Min appeared in the South Korean series “A-teen 2” (2019), “Melting Me Softly” (2019), “8 Again” (2020), “Shadow Beauty” (2021), “Ghost Train” (2024) and “Music Bank” host (2019-2020).
It was his first time in Manila when he arrived for the contract signing and press conference event and he was surprised by the warm welcome of his Filipino fans.
“When I arrived in the Philippines, I’m very excited because it was my first time here in the Philippines,” he enthused. The first thing he did was swim. “Because Korea has very cold (weather). But in the Philippines, the weather is very good and a little warm so the first thing I did was swim.”
He also had a taste of Filipino cuisine. “Because I heard from my friends that Filipino food is very good. So I will try the (local) barbecue and chicken wings. I will try everything and lechon, too.”
He told The STAR how memorable it was for him to meet his Filipino fans. “They are very kind, energetic and powerful. Everything was good and I was surprised when I arrived here in the Philippines. My fans are at the airport, they gave me flowers, and Filipino snacks and letters and gifts so I was surprised and was very impressed.”
