Is Baron Geisler’s daughter Sophia joining showbiz?

While the nation was very much engrossed with actor Baron Geisler’s latest gaffe with the Cebu police as he was detained for a few hours in the province after an alleged violation of a local ordinance on drunkenness last Feb. 22, there we found ourselves two days later in Quezon City, Grandia Place in Mother Ignacia after we saw a post from BLVCK Entertainment Productions about a story conference for a film entitled “Tag-Ulan,” where Baron was part of the ensemble cast along with Beauty Gonzales and Mark Herras.
At first, I thought it was a late post, but after further stalking, my judgment told me that it was an at-the-moment happening. I was supposed to go to The Block in Quezon City already for a movie premiere when I decided to divert and check BLVCK Entertainment Productions myself.
Lo and behold, upon entering the second floor, there was Jamie Geisler, Baron’s wife, with his daughter Sophia Asistio, whom he had with actress Nadia Montenegro. I sat there with them along with Beauty’s managers, Katrina Aguila and Jan Enriquez, who were patiently waiting for the story conference to wrap up.
Like in her few published gorgeous photos, Sophia, now 18, was even more beautiful in real life. She was a carbon copy of her dad Baron.
It was just back in July last year when Nadia confirmed that Baron was the father but no wonder, rumors about this have been swirling even a decade before because she is her father’s twin.
Even Jamie shared this tidbit: “When Baron told me about her, I told Baron we do not need a DNA test.” Like her father, Sophia also has that showbiz charisma that one will not be surprised if she joins showbiz.
So, in true Entertainment journalist fashion, we chatted with Sophia and inquired if she would ever be interested in joining the local tinseltown. She was playful when she answered, “Secret.”

But then again, Sophia, who is into dancing, said that she wanted to get deeper into it when she goes to college.
In terms of her characteristics, she switches between an introvert and an extrovert depending on the company. Sophia shared that she is now staying with her dad Baron and Jamie for the meantime because it is nearer to her school as the Asistios live in their home court in Caloocan.
Showbiz may be around the corner, but as of now, Sophia is contemplating on getting into courses related to the medical field.
“I’m looking forward to business or med courses, like dentistry or psychology. Still exploring,” she said.

Jamie, the ever-charming wife of Baron, has been such a charming stepmom to Sophia as we observed them chatting about anything and everything under the sun. It was a light energy and light mood.
Going back to Baron, he stepped out of the story conference for a bit to get some air and that was when we asked him about his latest issue with the authorities.
He said that it was much deeper than it already is and after sorting things out legally, he will reach out to tell his side of the story, but for now, he had this to say, “Ano na lang, I will let my lawyer handle all of those allegations.” He added, “I am all well and do not believe those lies.”
Though Baron may not be perfect, with the support of his wife and family, we can see that he is making the effort to make the most of the opportunity that he is in showbiz right now. With continued support, he will definitely get there.
As of now, catch him in “Incognito,” which streams on Netflix and airs weekdays on TV5.
