Will Korina surface on TV5?
Beautéderm president/CEO Rhea Anicoche- Tan (inset): we are proud and honored to have endorser of our new product

With the end of the ABS-CBN franchise, it’s but natural for the network talents to, so to speak, look for greener pastures. Life has to go on and hope springs eternal.

As I was saying, although she said that she remains a Kapamilya at heart even if her ABS-CBN contract has expired (not renewed), Pokwang is the first Kapamilya to “migrate” to the Kapatid TV5 network, with not just one but two shows lined up for her by the blocktimer APT Entertainment headed by Antonio P. “Mr. T” Tuviera — the daily (Monday thru Saturday) morning show Rise & Shine with Pauleen Luna-Sotto and Ria Atayde (still a Kapamilya) as co-hosts and a sitcom with Jose Manalo. Bongga!!!

The “feeler” came a few weeks ago when Pokwang appeared as “judge” in the popular Bawal Judgmental segment of the APT-produced Eat, Bulaga! (airing on Kapamilya’s arch rival Kapuso GMA network channel). Soon after that, news spread that Pokwang had turned Kapuso (the network is closely identified with APT). If that’s the case, could it be possible that more Kapamilya are moving  over (forward!) to the Kapatid channel, including those who have similarly guested in Bulaga — Cristine Reyes, Valerie Concepcion and Empress Schuck, among them? Under negotiation is Jessy Mendiola...and also Gonzaga sisters Toni and Alex (a former Kapatid)?

The loudest whisper is that Korina Sanchez-Roxas is poised to surface on TV5 perhaps with a recharged version of her long-running Kapamilya show Rated K. If ever, Korina will be a big boost to the Kapatid Network which is spreading open arms to Kapamilya talents, announced no less by Kapatid big boss Manny V. Pangilinan/MVP who was quoted in a STAR story saying that TV5 is going to strengthen its entertainment content. Korina is reportedly among those who have already received “letters of termination” from the Kapamilya management along with Ces Drilon who just “might” also avail of MVP’s invite.

Contacted by Funfare, Korina was mum (but her smile gave her away), and said just to wait and see. But what she confirmed is that as Beautéderm Corporation celebrates its 11th anniversary, she has said yes as an endorser of the brand’s new product called Slender Sips K-llagen Collagen Drink.

“People ask me how I look younger than my age. Well, K-llagen is a healthy and delicious collagen drink that I take every day,” said Korina. “Collagen is an essential supplement to keep the body internally and externally rejuvenated. Collagen preserves and promotes youth of the organs including skin and hair.”

Slender Sips K-llagen Collagen Drink is distributed by Beautéderm’s sister company RD Healthy Living Corporation.

Beautéderm president/CEO Rhea Anicoche-Tan said, “I welcome Ms. K with open arms and a happy heart. She is my idol. It’s really an honor for Ma’am Korina to represent our new product.”

No Rome releases new single

1:45AM is the new single from No Rome, featuring Bearface, and the latest installment in a series of collaborative tracks from the Filipino alt-pop star, which to date has included singles with Beabadoobee & Jay Som (Hurry Home) and Dijon (Trust 3000).

Featuring co-production from long-time collaborator George Daniel of The 1975 and legendary UK Garage producer MJ Cole, the single is another example of No Rome’s ability to seamlessly blend genres, working with an impressive variety of collaborators, while always retaining his own unique sound and identity.

With over 150 million streams globally to his name and support from Vogue (that predicted No Rome as its No. 1 artist to watch out for in 2020), The Face, High Snobiety, NME, The Guardian, The Fader and Paper Mag, to name a few, No Rome is consistently proving that he is one of the most exciting, versatile and talented young artists around.

Pope Francis’ heart-warming speech

Funfare’s inspiring and soul-enriching features have drawn praises from readers who request for more. Here’s one more, Pope Francis’ speech read for him during a recent retreat, forwarded to Funfare by former actress Nina Zaldua-Raymundo (Rannie and Lance’s mom) who flew in last week from San Diego, California, where she was locked down for months at her sister’s home. “Regardless of religion,” said Nina, “see how beautiful what the Pope said about family and children.”

Here it is:

There is no perfect family. We do not have perfect parents, we are not perfect, we do not marry a perfect person or have perfect children. We have complaints from each other. We disappoint each other. So there is no healthy marriage or healthy family without the exercise of forgiveness. Forgiveness is vital to our emotional health and spiritual survival. Without forgiveness, the family becomes an arena of conflict and a stronghold of hurt. Without forgiveness, the family becomes ill.

Forgiveness is the asepsis of the soul, the cleansing of the mind and the liberation of the heart. Whoever does not forgive does not have peace in the soul nor communion with God. Hurt is poison that intoxicates and kills. Keeping heartache in the heart is a self-destructive gesture. It’s autophagy. Those who do not forgive are physically, emotionally and spiritually ill.

Parents are the children’s source of life. They are there to protect their sons and daughters and not to compete with them. That is why the family must be a place of life, not of death; territory of cure and not of illness; stage of forgiveness and not guilt. Forgiveness brings joy where sorrow has produced sadness; healing, where sorrow has caused disease.
