Libreng mass testing inapela sa SC
MANILA, Philippines — Isang grupo ng mga abogado ang nagsampa ng apela sa Korte Suprema para obligahin ang pamahalaan na magbigay ng libreng mass testing sa COVID-19 para sa lahat.
Sa petisyon ng 11 miyembro ng National Union of Peoples’ Lawyers (NUPL), hiniling rin nila na atasan ang gobyerno na palakasin pa ang contact tracing, containment at testing capacity.
“The omission of proactive and efficient mass testing amid the COVID-19 pandemic has shown that a systemic and normalized violation of the right to health engenders the impairment of other human rights and liberties, such as the rights to travel, livelihood or work, education, and access to justice,” ayon sa petisyon.
Tinukoy na respondents sa petisyon ang mga miyembro ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Iginiit ng grupo na dapat magpalabas ang pamahalaan ng tama, napapanahon at kumpletong impormasyon sa sitwasyon ng bansa sa COVID-19.
