Why Ai-Ai is against same-sex marriage

Why Ai-Ai is against same-sex marriage

FYI: According to a Fengshui Master in Hong Kong: This February (2020) won’t come in our lifetime again. Reason: this February has four Sundays, four Mondays, four Tuesdays, four Wednesdays, four Thursdays, four Fridays and, since it's a leap year, five Saturdays. This only happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So share to at least five people or five groups and money will arrive within four days. Based on Chinese Feng Shui, share within 11 minutes of reading.

(Note: It’s up to you how to take it. Me? I take it with a grain of salt, especially the “money” part. But I find the information about February interesting so I am passing it on to you. Happy Chinese New Year, Year of the Metal Rat, starting on Jan. 25. Kung Hei Fat Choi!)

Among those who commended the Supreme Court decision to junk the petition for same-sex marriage was Ai-Ai delas Alas who got bashed after she posted her opinion on her Instagram.

“I am a Catholic at bawal naman talaga sa Catholic Church ang same-sex marriage,” explained Ai-Ai at the recent presscon for D’Ninang, Regal Entertainment. Inc.’s opening salvo for 2020 which is a follow-up to Ai-Ai's movie Our Mighty Yaya, the company’s hit Mother’s Day offering in 2017. But, and that’s the Big But, added Ai-Ai, “it’s okay for same-sex couples to be in love, siempre been there done that. Nadaanan ko ‘yan, eh. They can exchange vows if they want to, pero para sa akin huwag lang sa church.”

In a follow-up text to Funfare, Ai-Ai said that she has been invited to her (same-sex) friends getting married.

“I would say ‘yes’ but I don’t attend. I just give them my pakimkim (financial gift) and assure them that I love them. As I said,” added Ai-Ai who is a Marian devotee, “I am Catholic and I believe what the Bible says that a man is for a woman, and vice-versa; ang lalaki ay para sa babae at ang babae ay para sa lalaki.

Ai-Ai was puzzled why she was being bashed for expressing her opinion.

“They have their opinion and I respect their opinion. They should also respect my opinion. Why would they be angry at me for speaking up? Wala naman akong sinabing masama, hindi lang ako pabor sa same-sex marriage. Kasalanan bang maghayag ang opinion mo? Nawi-weirdo-han ako sa reaction ng mga bashers.”

D’Ninang was not, contrary to what some people thought, submitted to the 2019 (45th) Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF), but Ai-Ai is included in the MMFF entry 3Pol Trobol (with Coco Martin).

“I’m happy for Aga (Muhlach whose starrer, Miracle in Cell No. 7 finished top-grosser in the two-week MMFF). The MMFF can be unpredictable. You can never tell what film would end up No. 1. Basta happy ang sambayanang Pilipino sa panonood, happy na rin ako. But,” she pointed out, “other films should be given a chance even if they are not doing well sales-wise. Don’t pull them out of the theaters. MMFF has a time frame so give people a chance to watch all entries.”

Incidentally, Ai-Ai served as ninang in the mass baptism of some 20 kids in Quiapo yesterday.

If a picture paints a thousand words, imagine how many thousand more words these two photos of McCoy and Kisses can paint?

Directed by GB Sampedro, D’Ninang introduces McCoy de Leon and Kisses Delavin as a new loveteam, McKiss. The two seem to be comfortable with each other. McCoy admitted that he was “busted” by Miles Ocampo when pressed by the movie writers if he really courted her.

“Hindi naging kami,” McCoy clarified. “Pero sige, since lalaki ako, aaminin ko na nabasted ako.” Then he laughed, his eyes disappearing into slits. (Note: But McCoy and Elisse Joson were an ”item.” They starred in Sakaling Magiging Tayo before they parted ways.)

They are introduced as a new loveteam (McKiss) in D’Ninang.

On the other hand, Kisses at 20 is NBSB (No Boyfriend Since Birth). She’s so wholesome that her roles (like the one in D’Ninang) are patterned after real life. Will her new management (Triple A) give Kissses more “mature” roles?

(Opening nationwide next Wednesday, Jan. 22, D’Ninang also stars Lou Veloso, Kelvin Miranda, Kiray Celis, Joey Marquez and Angel Guardian in an introductory role.)
