Dennis Padilla admits confronting Gerald Anderson about Julia Barretto
MANILA, Philippines — Comedian Dennis Padilla admitted reaching out to Gerald Anderson to confront him about his alleged courtship of Dennis’ daughter, actress Julia Barretto.
In an interview last Wednesday with TV host Boy Abunda in the late night talk show “Tonight With Boy Abunda,” Dennis said that while he cannot share what he and Gerald talked about, he confessed that he initiated the communication with Gerald.
“’Yung nilalaman ng paguusap namin, hindi ko pwedeng ibahagi. Pero ang totoo dun, ako ‘yung nag-text. Sabi ko, ‘Pwede mo ba ako tawagan? Dennis Padilla ‘to.’"
Gerald reportedly told Dennis that he was courting Julia and that he and Bea Alonzo were over. Dennis, however, did not confirm if Gerald really said those.
“So siguro, after 45 minutes, tumawag naman. Tapos may niliwanag lang ako sa kanya. Sabi ko lang ano, ‘Anak ko yan eh kaya pinapaalala ko lang na anak ko si Julia Barretto,’” Dennis recalled.
When asked for his message for Gerald, Dennis said: “Parang nakaapat na text na ako dun, hindi siya sumasagot… Dapat sagutin mo naman ‘yung text ko.”
When asked for his advice for Julia, Dennis shared, “’Nung huli naming usap sabi ko sa kanya na hayaan mo na muna ‘yan anak tutal pagod ka na sa pagtratrabaho, bakit ‘di ka muna magbakasyon? ‘Wag ka na muna maging active sa social media. ‘Wag ka na muna mag-react kung anuman ‘yung mga nababasa mo tapos ‘wag ka nang sumagot muna.”
He said he was so enraged by the nasty comments his daughter got on social media that he thought about physically hurting her bashers.
“Nung binabash si Julia, nagalit ako. May mga pagkakataon na ‘yung mga nagbabash kay Julia gusto kong puntahan sa bahay at gulpihin… tatay ako eh.”
