MANILA, Philippines —  Miss Grand Philippines 2019 Samantha Ashley Lo has spoken up regarding the viral photo of her competitor, Miss Grand Thailand 2019 Coco Arayha Suparurk, describing her fellow Filipina, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, as “fat.”

In an exclusive interview with Philstar.com during the Binibining Pilipinas 2019 queens’ Dairy Queen outreach activity in Philippine Children's Medical Center on Thursday, Lo said, “We should never body-shame… we should be mindful of what to say because karma will come back and bite you.”

The Cebuana beauty, however, clarified that she does not have anything against Coco.

“But you know, I don’t have anything ill against Coco,” Samantha stressed.

She admitted that people have been worrying about what Coco would do or say about her.

“I know everyone’s worried about what she’s gonna do with me,” Lo shared.

So, if she would see Coco in the pageant, this is what she would do: “I would introduce myself, say ‘hi’ and say, ‘I’m Sam,’ and maybe give her a slice of pizza. I don’t know… I feel sensitive as well as I’m excited to meet all these new sisters that I know I can bond right in.”

“I don’t want to go on a competition in a sour note. Why do that? I’m excited. It’s gonna be fine,” Samantha assured.

Suparurk recently filed cyberbullying charges against three Internet users following her trending comment describing Gray as "fat.”

During the recent press conference presenting two of the three suspects to the media, Coco broke down and admitted that she had a “feeling of suffering for a long time” due to social media bashers.

It can be recalled that early last month, Coco posted a photo of Catriona next to Miss Grand International 2018 Clara Sosa in her Instagram story. She put a text on the photo of Clara as “fit” while “fat” on Catriona.

Days after being bashed for her comment, Coco won as Miss Grand Thailand 2019. During her TV appearance on the talk show “Orange Mama,” she was asked about her comment, to which she said in Thai: “If Cat will message me directly, I will apologize."

In a conversation with a Twitter fan, Catriona gave an advice to everyone who has also been called “fat.”

“You are so much more than your body! You are your mind and your unique talents and your character and your life experiences and your personality! You are so, so much more than the exterior! And people will always remember how you made them feel and not how you looked,” Catriona said.
