What Mikee & Anthony will reveal
Studio 7 mainstays Mikee Quintos and Anthony Rosaldo will hold a concert titled Revelation on June 28, 8 p.m., at Music Museum

MANILA, Philippines — When they were offered to mount their first concert together, Studio 7 mainstays Mikee Quintos and Anthony Rosaldo initially thought that it was one of those spur-of-the-moment decisions.

“I was really surprised when Pau (Paulo Infante, Anthony’s manager and concert director) texted me, pitching the idea about the concert,” Mikee recalled, adding, “that’s where it all started and nagtuloy-tuloy na sa planning stage. Next thing we knew, we were rehearsing already.”

“Sometimes, the best things happen when they are unplanned,” added Anthony, assuring that concertgoers are in for a one-of-a-kind music experience.

Titled Revelation, the concert is set for June 28, 8 p.m. at the Music Museum.

Mikee started her showbiz career in 2016 and became popular with her character Lira in Encantadia and Maila in Onanay. Besides acting, the Kapuso star is also a singer and has been displaying her vocal chops in Studio 7 (now airing Saturday nights). The concert marks another milestone for Mikee as she showcases her love for performing.

She said that the concert not only pushes herself to go beyond her boundaries, it will also reveal her renewed passion for singing after putting it in the back-burner when she started acting. She didn’t realize her feelings of insecurities with singing until this concert was offered to her that’s why she is excited about this self-discovery that she will showcase through her performances in her first major concert.

“It felt right,” Mikee shared. “Because during the whole process, may mga pinagdaanan ako during the planning stage and I realized that ever since I got into showbiz three years ago, I focused on acting and no regrets, I enjoyed it. But because of this concert, I realized na lumaki pala ang insecurity ko about singing. I did not hone it since nakaligtaan ko siya and I only sing when it’s for a promo show. I believe this is something I can work on and I should work on. It does not mean that just because I’m focused on acting, I’ll forget about dancing and singing.”

Anthony, on the other hand, is an alumni of The Clash last year and has become part of Studio 7 along with his fellow Clash graduates Golden Cañedo, Jong Madaliday, Garrett Bolden, among others.

Tthe concert title resonates with him as well because “as a newbie in showbiz industry, marami pang gustong makita yung mga tao sa akin and people are really expecting a lot from me especially I’m a Clasher and they know that I sing. I cannot say it’s good but that’s expected from me, di ba? However, the kind of opportunity I get on TV is not really that big yet and it’s limited so for me to have this big avenue for the fans and everybody to see me perform and to see the real me as a performer, for me that’s my revelation because there’s really more for people to see of what I can do.”

The concert, which promises stellar performances from guests Solenn Heussaff and Aicelle Santos, will feature a ‘90s medley, today’s chart-topping songs, OPM dance hits and a glimpse of Broadway.

(Tickets to the Revelation concert, which is presented by JPI Entertainment,  are priced at P2,700 for VVIP; P2,000, VIP; P1,300, Orchestra; and P800, Balcony available at www.ticketworld.com.ph. For details, call 891-9999.)
