Donnalyn raps for the maganda

SOUNDS FAMILIAR - Baby A. Gil - The Philippine Star
Donnalyn raps for the maganda
For her latest titled Di Lahat, Donnalyn Bartolome takes up the cudgels for the pretty girls, the magandas around us, who always seem to get the bad rap as far as broken-hearted men are concerned and are often not taken seriously

Pinoy guys have been at it for years. I mean singing or rapping about the beauty and the virtues of the women who have captivated them and that they would love to spend a lifetime with. But nobody has talked about the beautiful creatures that regular men consider out of reach or who they believe will not give them the time of day. They may be out of their league as in what they call high-maintenance or they may simply be fearful that their being attractive makes them dangerous femme fatales who will only break their hearts.

So Donnalyn Bartolome has taken matters into her own hands. Donnalyn is the petite dynamo of an artist who has been a dominant force on social media these past years. She is a singer, songwriter, rapper, actress, vlogger, etc. She has over four million followers on Facebook and also big numbers on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. She does tutorials, poses challenges, makes song and dance covers or simply sings her own compositions. Kakaibabe with 29 million views on YouTube, from the soundtrack of the movie Diary ng Panget, is one of her big hits.

For her latest titled Di Lahat, Donnalyn takes up the cudgels for the pretty girls, the magandas around us, who always seem to get the bad rap as far as broken-hearted men are concerned and are often not taken seriously. And note how Dalaga by Allmo$t has been turned into a funny, flirtatious meme. So here now is Donnalyn telling everybody that their being beautiful should not be taken against such girls. They are actually just like everybody else.

“Not saying you can’t find decent girls in the club/ just saying they just wanna have fun in the club/ so why don’t you leave them alone/ don’t ask for their phone number/ wanna take them home just to get it on/ and then forget it ever happened/ and that’s why you’re alone.

Donnalyn demonstrates this not only in her hip-hop tune but also in the very special video that she directed herself. Uploaded only last week, the video instantly trended and is now the most talked about new release of the moment. It has all the ingredients of a big seller. It combines a most catchy tune, sweet candy pink visuals and the most massive show of girl power in a Pinoy video ever witnessed on the web. This is because Donnalyn has invited several of her beautiful female friends to join her in the shoot. So aside from watching and listening, it has now become a popular game to name all the stunning women featured in the video.

Check out Di Lahat and see if you can name them all. Ready now. Is that Anne Curtis? Is that…
