‘Lies, black propaganda’: Angel Locsin defends Neri Colmenares

MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin aired her frustration on the alleged black propaganda against her nephew, Senate candidate Neri Colmenares.

In her Twitter account, Angel shared a video showing police officers distributing tabloids containing what she claimed as false information red-tagging Makabayan party-lists and progressive candidates such as Neri.

“Bakit grabe yung effort pra makasira? wala bang maibato kay @ColmenaresPH kaya kinakalat na komunista o NPA sya? dahil ba gumagawa sya ng paraan para sa kapakanan ng ordinaryong tao at hindi sa ikabubuti ng mga mapagsamantalang tao? Mag isip sana tayo,” Angel captioned her post. 

“It's the lies and black propaganda I don't understand. If you don't believe in him don't vote for him. Spreading lies and destroying the reputation of someone with pure intentions is what I don't agree with,” the actress said in another post.

A Twitter user with a profile picture of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos commented on Angel, saying: “NPA SUPPORTER KA RIN BA?”

“Hindi. Pero ikaw supporter ka ng maraming pinatay at tinorture during martial law. Panalo ka,” Angel replied to the comment. 

The Twitter user responded to Angel again, alleging that the United Stated tagged NPA as terrorists and Joma Sison admitted that Bayan Muna is an NPA wing. 

“ANG BANSANG AMERIKA AY TINUTURING NA TERORISTA ANG NPA .. ANG BAYAN MUNA AY NPA WING NA INAMIN NA RIN NI JOMA SISON BAKIT HINDI MO ALAM YAN MARAMING PINATAY ANG NPA HUMIHINGI SILA NG REVOLUTIONARY TAX HINDI NAMAN SILA NAGPAPAGAWA NG KALSADA SA BUNDOK #NPATerorista,” the user commented. 

“Kaya nagkaron ng NPA dahil dyan sa profile picture mo. Sya ang may kagagawan ng lahat ng gulo. At kasama ka sa mga dapat makunsensya dahil pinagkakakitaan mo yang pagtro-troll mo para sa mali. Binenta ang prinsipyo habang ang daming nagdudusa,” Angel clapped back.  

In the end, the Twitter user accused Angel of starting the squabble.

“Di ba ikaw ang UNANG NAG AKUSA SA AKIN NA BAYARAN Di ba ikaw nag akusa sa akin na BULAG ANG SINUSUPORTAHAN PAG SUMUSUPORTA NG MARAMING PINAPATAY MARAMING TINOTORTURE PERO SINO BA NAG TORTURE ? SINO BA PUMATAY SI FERDINAND MARCOS BA #MarcosKami,” the user said. 

“Mag aral ng history. Makinig sa panig ng mga biktima. Hindi lang puro papogi,” Angel replied.  

In the latest senate poll tally, Neri got 4,610,247 votes with 96.54 percent election returns transmitted. He garnered 6,484,985 votes last 2016 elections.
