MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya artists Coco Martin and Yassi Pressman’s endorsed party-list Ang Probinsyano currently has 746,479 votes nationwide, making the party-list snag the fifth slot in the partial, unofficial tallies of the 2019 midterm elections, with 95.29 percent of election returns transmitted as of May 14, 7:20 p.m.

Named after Coco and Yassi’s hit soap opera “Ang Probinsyano,” the party-list group currently has 2.77 percent of the total national votes, which means it has so far earned one seat in the House of Representatives. 

Among the party list’s nominees are Alfred Delos Santos, Ronnie Ong, Edward Delos Santos, Ronaldo Tuazon and Eubendino Bitor. 

According to its Facebook page, Ang Probinsyano aims to uplift the lives of ordinary families in the provinces. 

“Ang ALYANSA NG MGA MAMAMAYANG PROBINSYANO (Ang Probinsyano o AP-PL) Party-List ay isang samahan na nagkakaisa upang iangat ang antas ng pamumuhay ng mga ordinaryong pamilya sa probinsya upang umunlad ang buong bayan,” the party-list said on its Facebook page.  

“Mas magandang kalidad ng buhay sa mga lalawigan. Mas maraming oportunidad para sa magandang trabaho at marangal na buhay. Ligtas at tahimik na komunidad,” Ang Probinsyano said on its vision.  

The Erwin Tulfo-backed ACT-CIS (2,547,088 votes) leads the party-list votes, followed by Bayan Muna (1,085,266 votes), Ako Bicol (1,021,165 votes), CIBAC (904,347 votes) and Ang Probinsyano (743,741 votes).

Completing the top list are 1Pacman (695,903 votes), Marino (645,392 votes) and Probinsyano Ako (613,787 votes), each having more than two percent of the national votes so far.
