MANILA, Philippines — Representing Cebu’s Sinulog Festival, Nicole Yance Borromeo, 18, was crowned 2019 Reyna ng Aliwan, pocketing P100,000 cash and a trophy. She will be the goodwill ambassadress of domestic tourism.

Beating 22 other festival queens, she was also named Best in Festival Costume (designed by Orville Biongcog), Best in Swimsuit, Best in Evening Gown (by Mel Maria) and Miss White Rose.

A native of Carcar and a senior high school graduate from Cebu Doctor’s University, Nicole was crowned 2019 Sinulog Festival Queen last January. She was 2017 Miss Silka Cebu and 2018 Miss Mandaue first runner-up, competed in the Miss Teen Philippines and was Cebu’s bet in Eat, Bulaga’s 2019 Miss Millennial Philippines search.

Runners-up were Aubrhie Cindyrelle Carpio (first) of Malolos, Bulacan; and (second) Roi Never Comanda of Panagbenga Festival of Baguio City, Alayzza Izzabelle Tomilao of Agten Tufi Festival of South Cotabato and Leandrea Gabrielle Batingan of Tanglawan Festival of San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. Each got P10,000 cash and a trophy.
