Is Maymay Entrata OK to play Darna?

MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actress Maymay Entrata reacted on her nomination by social media users as the next “Darna.”

In a live video posted by her on her Instagram account, Maymay was joined by Kakai Bautista and Lovely Abella. 

An Instagram user asked Maymay if “Pwede ka po bang maging Darna, Ate May?”

“Actually ‘yung pagiging Darna ni May, mahirap ‘yung bra. Walang pagkakapitan," Kakai responded to the question while Maymay agreed, saying: "Hindi kasya ‘yung bra sa akin."

While Lovely showed the Ilonggo version of Darna that drew laughter from both Maymay and Kakai, the Kapamilya teen actress responded with the Korean version of the Pinay superheroine. 

The search for the next Darna is still on after Liza Soberano backed out from doing the role because of a broken finger she suffered while shooting a scene in “Bagani.”

Apart from Maymay, social media users nominated Nadine Lustre, Pia Wurtzbach and Maja Salvador, among others, to play the iconic role.
