1MX festival goes to Singapore

MANILA, Philippines — After its successful tour in Dubai in 2017 and Abu Dhabi in 2018, ABS-CBN’s 1MX (short for One Music X) brings Filipino music artists to its first Asian destination — Singapore.

Headlining the first Asian leg on May 26 at SCAPE Playspace, Orchard Link, Singapore are Kapamilya artists KZ Tandingan, Bugoy Drilon, Darren Espanto, Jayda Avanzado and Ben&Ben. Singaporean talents are also expected to perform in the music festival.

The event, made possible by ABS-CBN Music Ecosystem which consists of Star Music, MOR 101.9 For Life!, MYX Philippines, One Music Ph and The Filipino Channel (TFC), is a platform to reach the global audience and connect Filipino artists to the world.

Star Music audio content head Jonathan Manalo explained why the event is titled 1MX, “One Music means we are united with just one music because when we say music, it’s breaking boundaries, no borders. We are so proud with this project because this is the first-ever music festival na pinagtulungan namin sa ABS-CBN Music Ecosystem which started two years ago.”

KZ, who was part of 1MX in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, said, “It’s my third time now and I’m thankful na sinama pa rin ako sa 1MX this year. I’m very excited to perform for our Kapamilya in Singapore. It’s also exciting that I’ll be doing this with Bugoy, Jayda and Darren kasi I think first time ko silang makasama sa isang music festival.”

Like KZ, Darren, Bugoy, Jayda and Ben&Ben who are first-timers to the music festival are also thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to perform in such a big event outside the country.

Also looking forward to the event is Darren who feels privileged to be part of the music festival.

Jayda, meanwhile, said, “I’m very honored to be part of such a lineup of talented artists.”

Ben&Ben (the group who’s famous for the hit Maybe the Night) said, “We’re very grateful to One Music for making us part of this wonderful, wonderful festival.”
