Derek Ramsay now a Kapuso
MANILA, Philippines — Actor Derek Ramsay is now officially a Kapuso.
In GMA Network’s Instagram account, the Kapuso network has announced on Wednesday its official welcome for Derek as a new addition to its roster of celebrities.
“JUST IN: @ramsayderek07 signs with the Kapuso Network #GMAWelcomesDerek,” GMA wrote.
Derek said his family plays an important role on his decision to sign with the Kapuso network. He also said that he likes how GMA respected his decision to take some time to think before accepting the offer.
“They respected the fact that ‘Sige, when you’re ready.’ And so I went back and talked to my parents. And my family was the one really said ‘you should do this.’ And I said ‘wow’ and they are very close to me so when my family felt, when I felt close to them, sabi ko perfect fit na talaga to,” Derek said in GMA’s Instagram story.
Also in GMA’s Instagram story, Derek was seen signing his contract for the network with GMA’s Chief Executive Officer Felipe Gozon.
“Siyempre tayo ay nagagalak. Derek is a very welcome addition to our stable of artists. Magaling siyang artista,” Gozon said.
Before signing with GMA, Derek was previously with ABS-CBN’s Star Magic and then with TV5. He is known for his roles in movies such as "No Other Woman," "A Secret Affair," All of You," “English Only, Please," "Trophy Wife" and "Kasal," to name a few.
