Maymay Entrata as beauty queen? Ariella Arida agrees
MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe 2013 third runner-up Ariella Arida posted a picture with fellow beauty queens and Kapamilya star Maymay Entrata on February 25 and captioned it: “2010-2011-2013-2014 and 2022? Pwede di ba?”
Ariella referred to the years she and fellow beauty queens in the picture represented the Philippines in Miss Universe. These include Miss Universe 2010 fourth runner-up Venus Raj, Miss Universe Philippines 2011 Shamcey Supsup-Lee and Miss Universe 2014 top 10 finalist Mary Jean Lastimosa.
In the caption, Ariella insinuated that Maymay could be the country’s Miss Universe representative in 2022.
“Pwedeng pwede po!” many of Maymay’s fans commented on the post.
“Pwede po! Pero po pwede magtanong – pwede kaya kay Edward ‘yun?” a netizen said, asking if Maymay’s MayWard love team partner, Edward Barber, would like to see Maymay as a future pageant titleholder.
“Ano kayang sasabihin ni Edward ‘pag nakitang naka-bikini si Maymay?” mused another netizen, who speculated if Edward would praise or tease Maymay, as he usually does.
Ariella’s post came after the video of Maymay’s fashion show with Binibining Pilipinas queens during Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s homecoming show last weekend went viral.
In the show, Maymay wore another version of Catriona’s winning lava gown, also designed by Gray’s designer, Mak Tumang.
“Hanggang ngayon nag uumapaw ang aking kasiyahan! Di makapaniwala na maging parte ng fashion show with our beloved beauty queens!” Maymay told her Instagram followers after the show.
In November last year, Maymay became the first Filipina to walk on the runway of Arab Fashion Week in Dubai.
