Catriona Gray’s boyfriend now a ‘Kapuso,’ to star opposite Jennylyn Mercado
MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray is setting aside her love life for the meantime and said she will be focusing on her task as a beauty titlist.
In an interview with ABS-CBN's "TV Patrol," Catriona was asked by entertainment reporter Mario Dumawal to choose between love and the crown.
"The crown muna. It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. And the distance. I'm a very focused person, so I really do wanna give everything I have to this journey," Catriona said in an interview aired on Wednesday, the eve of her grand homecoming parade in Metro Manila.
The statement of the beauty queen from Bicol fueled speculations that she and boyfriend Clint Bondad are on an alleged “cool off” since December.
Catriona also said that besides the crown, she will be busy with her duties as a volunteer of youth-oriented non-government organization Young Focus in Tondo, Manila.
Clint is set to appear in his first teleserye with GMA 7 after leaving ABS-CBN'S variety show "ASAP" as a member of the group Cover Boys. He will reportedly become a part of the upcoming Kapuso primetime series "Love You Two," starring Jennylyn Mercado.
