When Winwyn Marquez (who prefers to be known for her real name Teresita Ssen after she won Reina Hispanoamericana in 2017) announced that she and Mark Herras, her boyfriend of more than three years, have broken up, those close to them described the admission as “anti-climactic.” Why? Well, because they knew that it was bound to happen.

No wonder the announcement got a lukewarm reaction from movie writers (close to the “un-couple”) present at the presscon the other day for Time and Again, Regal Entertainment’s post-Valentine offering opening nationwide on Wednesday, Feb. 20, with Enzo Pineda as her leading man.

Except to say that the break-up was a “mutual decision” between her and Mark (at 32, he’s six years Winwyn’s senior) and that there’s no ”third party,” Winwyn didn’t want to elaborate even as she laughed off insinuations that Enzo had something to do with it.

“Enzo is a long-time friend,” said Winwyn. “I’ve known him for nine years, since the time we started in showbiz at the same time. I’m comfortable working with him. Like me, he was a Kapuso until he became a Kapamilya.”

With Enzo Pineda in Time And Again, Regal Entertainment’s post-Valentine offering showing nationwide starting Wednesday, Feb. 20.

In the movie directed by Joey Reyes, Winwyn plays an NBSB girl (No Boyfriend Since Birth) until she bumps into Enzo’s character.

Did Winwyn time the announcement of the break-up with the movie’s promo? Maybe yes, maybe no. Nagkataon lang. It was the best time to spill the beans, so to speak.

“Mark and I still talk,” she explained. “I am busy and so is he. He has his own thing and I have my own thing. But we are still friends.”

Has Winwyn learned how to, as her dad Joey Marquez put it in an interview with Funfare last year, “use her head”?

Joey said that in answer to a question about what his advice to Winwyn was, where men were concerned (without specifically mentioning Mark).

“She has to be wise in choosing a partner for life,” Joey had said. “It must be 70 percent using her head and 30 percent her heart. And she should not be impulsive.”

Jolo’s current is Brian’s ‘ex’

Also considerably “anti-climactic” was Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla’s admission that he and Angelica Alita (2016 Bb. Pilipinas first runner-up (to Maxene Medina) are now an item.

If the name sounds vaguely familiar, it’s because Angelica is Brian Poe Llamanzares’ ex-girlfriend who was among the models during the launch of Brian’s Time Master watches. Brian was in New York taking up his Master’s last year when his lola Susan Roces hosted a birthday dinner for friends in July at a Makati restaurant and Angelica was among the guests. Brian’s parents, Sen. Grace Poe and Neil Llamanzares, seemed to approve of her.

Nothing was heard about Angelica until she surfaced at the recent birthday party of Jolo’s son Gab. Judging from the photos, the Revillas seemed to also approve of her. On Valentine’s Day, Jolo confirmed his relationship with Angelica in a post on his Instagram account, “Angel, happy Valentine’s Day. Totoong masaya ang puso ko ngayon because I have you in my life. You’ve been caring, loving and supportive to me. I love you and will always will.”

That means that Jolo has (finally!) given up any effort to win back Jodi Sta. Maria.

The question is: Has Jolo fallen for Angelica on the rebound (because how come Jolo found a new love so soon)?
