MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actress Angel Locsin revealed that she almost quit showbiz because of her spinal injury, adding that she felt she was a “big disappointment” at that time.

In an interview with select media before the press conference of her latest teleserye “The General’s Daughter,” Angel said she already submitted her resignation letter but changed her mind after talking to ABS-CBN’s big bosses.

Kasi feeling ko dati 'di ko kakayanin e. Ayoko na e. Ayoko na noon e. Nagre-resign na ‘ko. As in may letter na ‘ko. Parang feeling ko I’m a big disappointment,” Angel said.

Tapos after one week, may pinresent tapos sabi, ‘Gel tignan mo lang kung okay,’” she added.

Angel admitted that those years were very challenging for her. But now that she's back in an action teleserye, Angel said she’s happy with how her body responded to her action stunts and glad she overcame that dark chapter in her life.

Strengthened mo na yung katawan mo kaya fulfilling,” she said.

So ito, nilalaban ko but I’m very careful naman. After ng eksena, ice pack, warm compress, day before nagpapa-PT na ko,” she added.

Angel added that while her doctor in Singapore is very strict and doesn't allow her to do some stunts, all these were approved by her physical therapists.

Very conservative kasi. [Pero] sa mga PT ko, okay. Ayaw niyang juma-jump, nagtu-twist, nagbe-bend, mag carry ng liter bar, marami siyang ayaw. One year na, wala pa kong nararamdaman,” she said.

Angel will play Rhian Bonifacio, daughter of a military general who was raised and trained to take down their family’s biggest enemy, in ABS-CBN's first prime time offering this 2019.

“The General’s Daughter” will begin airing on January 21, replacing “Ngayon at Kailanman.”
