Brian McKnight proudly in love with Filipina wife
MANILA, Philippines — International singer Brian McKnight proudly shared that his wife is a Filipina.
During his concert recently held at the Solaire Theatre in Manila, the American, 16-times-Grammy-nominated singer said he never imagined that “a dirty low down dog like myself could find real true love.”
“And for the first time in my life, the songs have their true meaning and there's hope for everyone in the whole wide world. And it's because my wife is Filipina. Oh you didn't know that?” Brian told his audience.
“Every song I write now is about my wife and the love that we shared and it's a real, real thing,” said the singer, who married Filipina doctor Leilani Mendoza on December 29, 2017.
Brian added that now that he is also a Filipino by marrying a Filipina, he learned a lot of things such as “pansit, adobo, and in the mornings, longganisa.”
Reports said that the singer behind the hit songs “Back at One,” “6, 8, 12,” and “One Last Cry” and his doctor wife started dating in 2014.
On his Instagram account, Brian said they began their journey five years ago. He greeted his wife for their fifth anniversary.
“Baby five years ago today we bagan this journey not knowing where love would lead us but hindsight being 20/20 Im so glad you let me into your life so u could show me what I should have been waiting for all my life. There was no life before you and Im more in love with you everyday so happy 5th anniversary of our love and I promise you we've only just began,” he wrote.
McKnight also recently performed at the Miss Earth 2018 pageant held in Manila.
