Despite delay, Liza Soberano gives update on ‘Darna’
MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actress Liza Soberano gave an update on her long pending movie "Darna."
In a story conference on Friday for her new film with onscreen partner Enrique Gil directed by Antoinette Jadaone under Black Sheep productions, Liza said they will resume their shooting for the movie revival of the iconic Pinoy superhero after finishing the film with Black Sheep.
"We're gonna focus on this project first and then right after we're gonna do 'Darna' na," Liza assured.
The superhero film, which recently changed its director from Erik Matti to Jerrold Tarog, reportedly started its planning stages in 2015.
"We're just waiting for direk Jerrold to finish the script. I think they're finalizing a few details. So ayun lang ang hinihintay namin," Liza added.
Her new movie with Enrique, which has no screening date yet but will be shown in theaters nationwide on first quarter of 2019, will start filming this December before Christmas.
Liza will play a University of the Philippines arts student who dreams of becoming big in the future, while Enrique will play the complete opposite of Liza's character, a Biology student who does not have dreams.
