The song was originally sung by Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. and was among the famous cover songs of the late Rico J. during the ‘70s.

The OPM icon just added lyrics, “Kahit na pangit ka pa baby, kailangan kita. Kahit na pangit ka pa baby, iniibig kita.”

Rico played John Lloyd’s father in the sitcom “Home Sweetie Home.”

Reports said John Lloyd failed to attend Rico’s necrological service on November 7 at Santuario de San Antonio Parish in Forbes Park, Makati City.

Rico J. passed away last October 30 due to cardiac arrest. He was 65.
