MANILA, Philippines — Returning Kapamilya singer Regine Velasquez defended Kapuso actress Marian Rivera over her resurfaced video in which she can be seen singing Rihanna’s “Unfaithful.”

The five-year-old video shows Marian singing the song with "Temptation of Wife" co-stars Rafael Rosell and Glaiza de Castro in the now defunct variety show “Party Pilipinas.”

The video has been trending again among netizens speculating on who will sing GMA’s station ID, now that Regine has moved to the rival network.

On her Twitter account, the “Asia’s Songbird” defended Marian when a netizen posted the video and captioned it, “Asia’s Quail char.”

As a wedding godmother of Marian and husband Dingdong Dantes, Regine defended Marian and commented on the post: “Please guys wag na, inaanak ko yun please at love ko sila so please stop na. Besides Hindi naman talaga singer ang lola nyo she’s an actress and very good one so please stop na.”

“Queen natuwa lang po kami sa Unfaithful version ni Miss Marian, not really bashing her though, I admire her as an actress. Peace po, Miss Reg,” the netizen replied.

“Ok but please nomore na kasi hindi natin alam baka naman na hurt na rin sya diba please napag katuwaan na naman ok na yun,” Regine replied to the netizen.

The netizen's tweet has now been deleted.

The Marian video resurfaced after Regine came back to ABS-CBN. Netizens are looking for singers who will replace Regine in GMA, so the video resurfaced as well as the video of Kapuso star Barbie Forteza singing “Meron Ba.”
